Some Iranian Trained Shiite Militias Are OK With Bush

Less than a week after New York Times reported that “A senior American intelligence official” spoon fed it information that “the Iranian-backed group Hezbollah had been training members of the Mahdi Army, the Iraqi Shiite militia led by Moktada al-Sadr” Bush is meeting with Shiite cleric Abdul-Aziz al-Hakim.Hakim leads Iraq’s largest Shiite political party, the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution, and formerly commanded the Badr Brigades, a large miltia trained by Iran that is accused of running death squads through the Iraqi Interior Ministry which the party controls.

So to the Bush administration brainiacs, Iranian and Hezbollah training of the Badr Brigade is fine but their training of al-Sadr’s Shiite militia is bad.
