Mitt Romney’s Religion Speech

So Mitt Romney on Thursday is going to address his religious issue. You know, the fact that the USA has never yet elected a devotee of the Mormon faith, considered by many evangelicals, important in the republican nomination process, to be nothing more than a cult.

The older amongst us will remember that John Kennedy addressed the nation relative to his Catholicism. At the time the nation had not yet elected a Catholic. But, with apologies to Lloyd Bensten, Romney is no Kennedy.

So look for the congenitally phony Romney to try to appropriate a bit of Kennedy glow. It won’t work. My guess is that he will come across just as greasy as he always does, roughly equivalent to the volume of grease in his hair.
