Microsoft Internet Explorer

I use Mozilla’s Firefox Browser, as well as its Thunderbird email program. I find both to be far superior to Internet Explorer and Outlook in all respects; but, particularly, I find Firefox to be much faster than IE.  What I really mean to say is that I think IE sucks big time.

I should disclose that I started in 1997 with Netscape’s Mozilla based browser and since have used IE only when necessary to access retrogressive websites. Even these days I have to use IE to pay the cable bill.

I find when I make changes to the appearance of my blog, or when I put a webpage together, the result often renders differently using IE than it does using Firefox. Often insignificantly so; but, sometimes, substantially differently.

I have looked into the matter, through repeated web searches, and have found lots of IE rants. Apparently Microsoft is a bit resistant to adhering to consensus standards, thus the difference in rendering, particularly related to margins, padding, and such.

I try to check the appearance using both browsers, in deference to you stubborn IE users, but sometimes cannot figure out how to fix the IE rendering problems.

At-any-rate, the point is that if my blog or other sites look a bit strange to you IE users I’m sorry. If you’re using IE do yourself a favor and give Firefox a try. It’s free for the download.
