My Spanish
May I gratuitously note that my Spanish speaking has progressed to the point to which I no longer must travel with a Spanish/English dictionary. I did not take my dictionary along on my recent two week visit to Cuba, nor on my previous trips to Puerto Escondido and Oaxaca.

The header photo is of Cuban children bouncing on a tree limb I encountered in 2004 while hiking up the mountain to visit Los Aquaticos, folks living in an area of the mountains overlooking the Vinales Valley accessible only on foot or horseback. Los Aquaticos believe the water in their community is special, bath multiple times per day in the water and dry themselves in the mountain air.Photos

I really enjoy your blog - it is refreshing to see someone actually enjoying themselves and growing into their seconfd launguage - spanish! I also really enjoy the postings about cuba! thanks

Thanks for your kind remarks. I’m am pleased to know that you enjoy my ruminations.
I will be posting more of my recent visit to Cuba and will be returning to stay the month of July with a family in the pueblito of Pons in Pinar del Rio. My postings during my visit will be scant to nil but should have plenty of photos and material to post upon my return.
