Incurious George Rides Again

Friday, March 14th, 2008

Is the George Bush the silliest president ever?

Reuters reports this comment from Bush, during a video conference with USA military personnel in Afghanistan:

“I must say, I’m a little envious,” Bush said. “If I were slightly younger and not employed here, I think it would be a fantastic experience to be on the front lines of helping this young democracy succeed.”

“It must be exciting for you … in some ways romantic, in some ways, you know, confronting danger. You’re really making history, and thanks,” Bush said.

Bush’s Brain

Thursday, April 12th, 2007

Everyone, I suspect, has heard or read Karl Rove referred to as Bush’s brain.

You may have recently read that Rove has been using a Republican National Committee email account for the vast majority of his email communications, presumably in an effort to avoid discovery of his messages.

Today I read that the RNC legal counsel has informed Congressman Waxman that Rove has been deleting his email messages from the RNC system well into 2005, a couple of years after US Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald instructed the White House and the RNC to preserve email messages.

There is an adage that I recall hearing since Nixon’s Watergate travails - “The cover up is worse than the crime”, a truism of which Rove is apparently ignorant.

Rove is demonstrably ruthless, but apparently not very smart, which perhaps explains why Bush acts like such a moron.
